With degrees in chemistry and math, our CEO worked in research and development in the metal finishing industry for the first 15 years of his career. Proceeding from group leader to director, his accomplishments included many innovations in the field of decorated aluminum, evidenced by several patents in his name.
His contributions to the industry at large took on a broader scope as he assumed sales and marketing responsibilities for the US market, with successful introductions of the product to the global market soon to follow. After living abroad for a number of years to establish manufacturing operations closer to customer bases, he returned to the US to take over the presidency of the most prestigious producer of metal trim at that time.
After 5 years of leadership, he left to pursue entreprenurial opportunities that he believed existed outside conventional markets and formed Fenix in collaboration with his son and daughter.
Our President spent 18 years as a management consultant, assisting manufacturing companies to improve operations and meet quality and regulatory requirements. This experience would be invaluable when he founded Fenix Metals, LLC.
After college, Tom’s degree in Business Administration, with an International Business and Spanish emphasis, prepared him well for an opportunity to extend his college football career by playing professionally in Europe. Tom spent two seasons in Ancona, Italy and another in Stockholm, Sweden playing quarterback for the football teams in those respective cities.
After his retirement from football, Tom returned to the U.S., accepted a position with a major consulting firm, and began planning and developing the business known today as Fenix Metals. When the time was right, Tom drafted two key players to join his new team: his father and sister. Each brought with them unique skill sets and a variety of experiences; but both share the same commitment to hard work, honesty, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Vice President - Director Business Development
With degrees in Business Administration, Spanish and International Business, our Vice President had the great fortune to put off work for a couple years while she trained for the Olympic Trials in the 400 meter hurdles. Having won the NCAA National Title in this event while in college, her path naturally took her in this direction. After suffering a back injury in 1996, however, those dreams were cut short and she took the lessons learned in athletics to Nike Inc. where she worked as a footwear sales and marketing rep in Miami, FL for four years.
In 2000, it became apparent to her that it was time to pursue her “other” dream in life, working with her father and brother. That dream was realized when she moved back to the Midwest to assist in launching Fenix Metals. She now oversees all sales and marketing activities for the Company.
